BAIC Group helps upgrade public transport equipment in Tibet with super bus

On July 26th, in Lhasa, with the blue sky and white clouds, a splendid event further narrowed the distance between Beijing and Lhasa. The launching ceremony of Beijing’s support to Lhasa regarding the green bus project donation and caring medical mutual assistance program was held with the theme of “Beijing and Tibet are one family in love”. Qi Zara, Party Standing Committee of Tibet Autonomous Region and Lhasa Municipal Party Committee Secretary, Wang Anshun, Deputy Secretary of Beijing Municipal Committee and Mayor, Xu Heyi, Chairman of BAIC Group, and more than 100 representatives from Lhasa Communications Industry Group Co., Ltd. (Lhasa Communications), as well as the media, witnessed the special moment.

BAIC Group takes "the most important role" of accurate aid in construction

The aid for Tibet was another practice in which Beijing profoundly studied and implemented the “7.20 Symposium on Poverty Alleviation Collaboration between East and West” by General Secretary Xi Jinping, for effective poverty alleviation. Beijing donated Lhasa 35 AUV BJ6105 plug-in hybrid city buses, produced by BAIC Group, to improve the public transportation system in Lhasa. Meanwhile, as one of the Fortune 500 companies and Beijing’s leading enterprises, BAIC Group donated Lhasa 4 mobile medical vehicles (2 units on this occasion) for Beijing’s assistance in Tibet, contributing to improving local medical and health conditions, and improving local people’s lives.

The AUV BJ6105 plug-in hybrid bus produced by Beiqi Foton, a subsidiary of BAIC Group, is designed for urban main roads and is suitable for various road conditions in cities, suburbs, plains, mountains, etc.; it features outstanding carrying capacity, safety and reliability, and is a good choice for the current urban main roads.

BAIC Group is leveraging on the application of the platform model to further improve its mature integrated operational solutions in the city bus field, bringing new horizon and new vitality to the upgrade of transportation equipment in Tibet. Year after year, BAIC Group has taken “the most important role” of aid for the construction and development of transportation and medical and health services in the country's remote areas.

Deepen the cooperation to accelerate the upgrading of the public transport system in Lhasa

On July 27th, after 35 AUV buses were incorporated into the public transport system in Lhasa, BAIC Group and Lhasa Communications reached a framework agreement for further strategic cooperation under the principles of partner assistance, complementary advantages, common development and mutual benefit.

BAIC Group continued to guarantee the effective operation of Tibet donated vehicles and decided to set up a sales service company in Lhasa to provide cost-effective products for Lhasa citizens. At the same time, the sales service company will provide automotive consulting, after-sales, maintenance and other services to Lhasa public transport system to help Lhasa improve public transport management and make a positive contribution to local taxes.

In order to eliminate the worries of Lhasa’s public transportation system, BAIC Group has given special support to infrastructure construction, charging facilities, spare parts storage, and the operation management of bus stations in Lhasa. A professional team has been designated to put forward an integrated solution, in a timely and efficient manner, based on the specific needs of Lhasa’s public transportation system, improving service support capabilities.
